The 16” wade saddle is our premium riding piece. This offering comes with much thought & more reshaping. We sought the help of a friend & fellow saddle maker, jaco burger, to help us refine the foundation of the design. Rawhide edge finishes were added, which not only serves as a protection for the hard wearing parts, but adds an authentic element to it with small, specifically tailored parts. We have removed the horn, as there are folk who prefer it without. It has a slick fork, a 16” seat, an 8” gullet width & 8 1/4” gullet height. We only ever use first grade, full grain leather. This means that it is the top layer of the hide with the most strength & long term character development. It will only look better with weather & wear. The hardware is either solid brass or stainless steel, & will not rub off. You may expect a beautiful patina build up on the hardware over time, again adding to the character development. The stirrups are covered with rawhide, giving it a signature look & sturdy step.
